Get paid to record your voice
We are looking for native English speakers from Ireland to take part in a paid audio recording study called Project Motto. You record yourself speaking naturally in English, on your own iPhone, from wherever you are. One session is enough, and each participant is paid $21.60. You can record alone or bring up to three friends or family members with you.
What you will do
You record a natural conversation or monologue in English lasting around five minutes (at least two minutes). Nothing is scripted, so speak the way you normally would. Choose whatever feels easiest:
- Talk about a news event you have been following;
- Riff on a topic you love, as if you were recording a podcast;
- Tell a story using fictional names and places;
- Chat with the friends or family recording alongside you.
You can record in a quiet room, at home, in a busy café, at a party or anywhere with natural background noise. Just make sure the audio comes out clear and that everyone present has agreed to be recorded.
Session format
- 1 to 4 participants per session
- 1 session per person
- Recorded remotely, on your own device
- iPhone 12 or newer, running the latest iOS
Requirements
- Native English speaker from Ireland (no need to live in Ireland)
- 18 or older, all age ranges welcome
- Comfortable holding a natural conversation in English
- Able to follow the recording instructions we send you
Payment
Each participant is paid $21.60 individually after their session is completed and reviewed. If four of you record together, all four get paid, and nothing is shared or split.
