Lead the Future of Retail

At UNIQLO, we believe clothing should be simple, high-quality, functional, and built to last, in order to make everyone’s life better. That's the heart of LifeWear.

The UMC Graduate Programme is a 12-month accelerated leadership journey designed for ambitious graduates ready to shape the future of one of the world's most dynamic global retailers. Expect a fast pace, a steep learning curve, and the chance to make a real impact in a business landscape that is always evolving, and where your contributions and ideas truly matter.

What You'll Gain

Throughout the year, you'll be supported by team members, managers and senior leaders who’ve been where you are and are determined to fast-track your career.

  • Mentoring and direct communications with your COO

Programme Structure

Months 1–4 | Discover the Business & Master the Foundations:

You'll begin by immersing yourself in the engine of UNIQLO: our stores. Your learning will happen directly on the shop floor rather than in an office setting. This is where you'll build a deep understanding of our customers, our products, and what makes our operations world-class.

You'll learn and master:

  • Customer service
  • Product deliveries & replenishment
  • Omni-channel & checkout operations
  • Onboarding and training new starters
  • Product category management

Months 5-6 | Step into Leadership

As a supervisor, you'll begin leading teams on the shop floor, influencing performance, and owning your first commercial responsibilities. This stage develops your leadership stance, building trust, driving results, and bringing out the best in the people around you.

You'll take on:

  • Team coordination & daily planning
  • Developing the performance of your colleagues
  • Operational excellence and customer satisfaction
  • Ownership of a key subdivision, ensuring day to day performance

Months 7–12 | Drive the Business

In your final rotation, on top of maintaining a strong presence on the shop floor as an assistant manager, you'll work alongside the Store Manager to influence commercial decisions and operational strategy.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Sales analytics & KPI performance
  • Inventory & commercial planning
  • Layout optimisation & store standards
  • Workforce planning aligned with sales forecasts
  • Team development & succession planning

  • Full-time contract
  • 30% staff discount across all Fast-Retailing brands
  • Two paid volunteer days per year
  • Opportunities for fast career progression at the end of the programme (eligibility for promotion every 6 months)
