Eligibility Criteria

  • Fluent German (C2) and advanced English language skills
  • Bachelor student graduating in 2027 or 2028 OR
  • Master student graduating in 2028, OR
  • Gap year between your bachelor and master's degree
  • Less than 12 months of full-time relevant work experience (excluding internships)
  • Availability for a full-time 3 – 6-month internship; see start date for more details

Start Date

This internship is available for a length of between 3 and 6 months, starting on any date between 18 January and 30 April 2027.

If you are not available during this period, please apply for a Summer & Fall 2027 Internship instead. Those applications open in mid-September 2026.

About the DWS Internship

The DWS Internship offers a unique and exciting opportunity to gain a wide range of practical experiences through individual projects, speaker sessions and networking events. With strong support from mentors and managers, you will be challenged to grow while gaining valuable insights into the world of Asset Management. This is an excellent way to determine whether a career in Financial Services & Asset Management meets your personal aspirations.

Subject to performance, successful interns may be offered a place on the DWS Graduate P.A.C.E. Program the following year.

About the Team

Finance ensures that DWS meets all financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and stock-listed company. To maintain DWS’s financial health, we make sure DWS teams meet their internal and external goals – making accurate and transparent reporting essential for identifying risk & opportunities. As a partner of the business, we perform deep dives, sensitivity analyses on the financial performance, competitor benchmarking, and also support strategic initiatives and portfolio measures. Our department covers a broad range of activities like Group Finance, Tax, Investor Relations, Planning & Performance Management and Treasury.

As our DWS Intern, you will:

  • Gain hands-on experience in financial planning and analysis by supporting budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis activities for a global asset management company
  • Support management reporting and performance monitoring by analyzing key business drivers such as Assets under Management (AuM), net flows, revenues, expenses, and headcount to help inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop understanding of how a global asset management company manages capital, liquidity, funding and regulatory requirements within a complex and regulated environment.
  • Support activities related to liquidity forecasting, stress testing, strategic balance sheet management initiatives, and hedge execution processes while contributing to reporting, risk monitoring and governance processes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly earnings reports and leadership presentations
  • Assist with the implementation of BI tools and compliance with new reporting standards like CSRD and IFRS
  • Work with teams across different time zones (US to Asia Pacific) to strengthen communication and teamwork skills

The Team is looking for:

  • Fluent German (C2) and advanced English language skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with financial modelling, data analytics, BI, or AI tools are preferred but not required
  • Analytical mindset with ability to structure and present complex topics in a clear and meaningful way.
  • Interest in financial statements, accounting principles, and the linkages between the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement. Prior experience is not required
  • Curiosity for finance and eagerness to learn about business models and asset management
  • Interest in corporate finance including planning, forecasting, modeling, and performance management. Prior experience is not required
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills and willingness to work in an international and dynamic environment.
